Real Estate Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Associate Attorney with 3โ€“5 years of experience to join a leading national law firm and its highly regarded Real Estate practice in Nashville, Tennessee. This is an excellent opportunity for a transactional real estate attorney to work on sophisticated matters for real estate end users while gaining meaningful responsibility and hands-on experience within a collaborative team.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have sophisticated, transferable real estate experience across acquisitions, leasing, divestitures, purchase and sale agreements, real estate finance, and related development and governance matters. The practice primarily represents real estate end users, with limited lender-side work and a general focus on borrower-side financing matters.

Responsibilities
  • Represent real estate end users in sophisticated transactional matters.

  • Handle acquisitions, divestitures, and purchase and sale agreements.

  • Advise clients on commercial real estate leasing matters.

  • Assist with real estate finance transactions, primarily representing borrowers.

  • Draft and negotiate reciprocal easement agreements and related development documents.

  • Prepare and negotiate governance and other real estate-related agreements.

  • Conduct due diligence and assist with transactions from inception through closing.

  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and clients while taking on increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications
  • 3โ€“5 years of sophisticated real estate experience at a law firm.

  • Experience with acquisitions, leasing, divestitures, purchase and sale agreements, and real estate finance.

  • Experience with reciprocal easement agreements and related development and governance documents preferred.

  • Strong drafting and legal writing skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic.

  • Strong academic credentials.

  • Demonstrated ability to take on immediately transferable responsibilities.

  • Admission to the Tennessee Bar or eligibility for admission by waiver required.

  • Must reside in the Nashville area by the time of hire.

  • Ability to work in the office at least three business days per week.
