Job description

General Counsel AMERICAS. We’re looking for a dynamic and commercially astute General Counsel to join our collaborative and entrepreneurial legal team. Reporting to the Group General Counsel, you will have responsibility for our North and South American businesses and will play a key role in supporting our AMERICAS operations, providing expert legal guidance across a broad spectrum of commercial matters.

This role can be based in New York, New Jersey, or Houston and is hybrid, with three days in the office (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday).

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including SaaS/software, consultancy, and supplier agreements.
  • Managing straightforward litigation and overseeing external counsel for complex matters.
  • Supporting internal investigations and contributing to risk and compliance initiatives.
  • Providing legal input during acquisition onboarding and supporting our global insurance programme.
  • Offering pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders across diverse business units.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified solicitor in US with a minimum of 10 years PQE, with a mix of law firm and in‑house experience.
  • Proven expertise in commercial contracting from the supply side.
  • Tech (SaaS/software) experience (desirable).
  • Due diligence and acquisition integration experience.
  • Fluent in Spanish (desirable).
  • Strong business partnering skills and the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and developing junior legal professionals.
  • High emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive, sleeves‑up approach.
  • A genuine team player with enthusiasm and integrity.

Salary: The anticipated salary range for individuals based in New York State for this position is $230,000–$250,000, depending on qualifications, experience, geography, and industry knowledge.
