    Job description

    A locally based engineering firm based in Honolulu is seeking a Civil or Environmental Engineer to join their collaborative and mission-driven team. This is a unique opportunity for an engineer looking for a fulfilling and creative role focused on sustainable infrastructure and environmental compliance projects.

    The firm specializes in civil and environmental engineering services, with a strong focus on wastewater treatment systems, site development, stormwater design, and environmental compliance. The team is committed to delivering high-quality work through a values-driven approach that balances environmental, social, and economic outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop engineering plans and drawings using AutoCAD for permitting and construction
    • Write clear, well-organized technical reports for engineering and environmental projects
    • Conduct site visits and fieldwork, including percolation testing, environmental sampling, and site investigations
    • Work independently and collaboratively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
    • Apply problem-solving techniques to deliver effective civil and environmental design solutions
    • Assist in project management tasks, including developing schedules and tracking budgets
    • Understand local permitting processes and project execution practices in Hawaii

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) actively working toward PE licensure
    • Strong communication and technical writing skills

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines across concurrent projects

    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering and architectural plans

    • Highly detail-oriented and self-directed

    • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

    • Must own a laptop and a mobile phone

    • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors for extended periods
