NCIS Data Engineer/Architect (Quantico, VA)
Join Life Cycle Engineering in support of the NCIS IT support services mission headquartered in Quantico, Virginia. The Information Technology Directorate (ITD) supports the NCIS core mission areas to investigate and defeat criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence threats by planning for and providing services through appropriate use of the people, equipment, technology, and infrastructure resources of the United States (U.S.) Navy and Marine Corps.
Position Summary:
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for transforming data into a format that can be easily analyzed by developing, maintaining, and testing infrastructures for data generation. You will collaborate closely with data scientists and data architects to provide solutions and enable data-driven decision-making by collecting, transforming, and publishing data.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Enables data-driven decision-making by collecting, transforming, and publishing data.
  • Designs and operationalizes secure data processing systems with an emphasis on reliability and compliance.
  • Drafts organizational data-related policies and manages data analytics programs.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years in IT with 5+ years in system design.
  • Expertise in implementing data management programs and analytics solutions.

Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Travel will be required to support this task (up to 25% travel)
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
