Job description


We're hiring Packaging Maintenance Technicians at the Samuel Adams Brewery in Breinigsville, PA.
We are seeking experienced industrial maintenance technicians with demonstrated hands-on experience in high-speed bottling, canning, or packaging production environments. This role supports packaging assets including automated fillers, seamers, conveyors, labelers, cartoners, case packers, palletizers, and associated utilities.
Current openings are for our Night Shift (5:45PM - 6:00 AM).
We offer two night-shift schedules:
• Sunday through Tuesday, plus every other Saturday (C12)
• Wednesday through Friday, plus every other Saturday (D12)
Please note: Candidates must be available for either schedule, including the alternating Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair high-speed packaging equipment, including:
    • Bottle and can fillers
    • Can seamers / roll-through seamers
    • Labelers, date coders, and inspection systems
    • Depalletizers, rinsers, packers, and palletizers
    • Conveyors, motors, photo eyes, stop gates, sensors, and diverters
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on packaging line components such as:
    • Bearings, belts, gearboxes, couplings, chain drives, VFDs, and servo systems
    • Pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, valves, manifolds, and lubrication systems
  • Troubleshoot process/product nonconformances through root cause analysis, including but not limited to:
    • Loose seams / double seams
    • Fill volume
    • Container pressure
    • Label & date code application
    • Line jams / accumulation
  • Read mechanical drawings, schematics, and piping diagrams to support equipment checks, changeovers, and overhauls.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for packaging assets.
  • Work safely around conveyors, rotating machinery, high voltage (480V), confined spaces, and elevated work platforms.
  • Safely operate forklifts and aerial lift equipment.

What Ingredients You'll Bring:
Required Experience:
  • High-speed manufacturing in food & beverage, brewery, soda, dairy, or similar facility.
  • Hands-on packaging line maintenance (not building maintenance, HVAC, facilities, or only PMs).
  • Experience troubleshooting:
    • Fillers, seamers, labelers, packers, or palletizers
    • Sensors, photo-eyes, limit switches
    • VFDs, PLC I/O, HMI alarms
  • Mechanical power transmission and pneumatic/hydraulic knowledge.
    • Awareness of NFPA 70E electrical safety principles.

Preferred Experience:
  • Setup, overhaul, & advanced troubleshooting of Ferrum, Angelus, Krones, KHS, Sidel, Douglas, GPI, Pearson, Lantech, or similar OEMs.
  • Prior use of a CMMS (Maximo experience a plus).
  • NFPA 70E Certification.
  • Precision machining & fabrication.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Lift up to 50lbs, climb stairs, crawl under equipment, work on elevated platforms, work in confined spaces, stand for long durations.
  • Work safely around high noise, moving equipment, forklifts, hot/cold areas, at heights, and wet floors.
  • Must wear required PPE.

Level: 8
In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $34.78/hr. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
