Job description

Overview
We're hiring a Resistance Welder Operator / Welder to join our 2nd shift team producing custom metal assemblies for architectural projects.
This role combines operating a resistance welding machine with performing MIG tack welds to prepare assemblies for final fabrication. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with entry to intermediate welding experience who wants to build their skills in a custom fabrication environment. While this is not a heavy fabrication role, you'll still need to read blueprints, position components accurately, and ensure assemblies meet quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.
This is a production-focused position where consistency, attention to detail, and pride in quality are critical.
Why Join Us
  • Four-Day Week: Monday through Thursday schedule with three-day weekends.
  • Unlimited Optional Overtime: Increase your earnings with available OT.
  • Direct Hire Day 1: Full benefits and long-term stability from your first day.

Compensation
  • Competitive starting pay based on experience.
  • Unlimited optional overtime.
  • Guaranteed 90-day performance review with raise potential.

2nd Shift
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 PM - 4:30 AM, overtime as needed

Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Resistance Welding: Operate resistance welding equipment to produce quality welded assemblies.
  • MIG Tack Welding: Apply MIG tack welds to secure components prior to final welding.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and basic weld callouts.
  • Part Positioning: Load, align, and secure components in welding fixtures for accurate assembly.
  • Quality Inspection: Verify weld quality, alignment, and dimensions before parts move to the next operation.
  • Material Handling: Move parts and assemblies safely throughout the production process.
  • Equipment Operation: Perform basic machine setup and make routine adjustments for different part configurations.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Keep welding equipment and work area clean while performing basic daily maintenance checks.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all welding, machine operation, and shop safety procedures.
  • Team Support: Work closely with fabricators and welders to maintain production flow and quality standards.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, or welding experience.
  • Basic MIG welding experience with the ability to produce clean tack welds.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

Preferred
  • Experience operating resistance welding equipment.
  • Experience working in a fabrication or metal manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience.
  • Welding certification or technical school training.
