DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
- Determine distances, areas, and angles of projects.
- Establish reference points for both horizontal and vertical control.
- Set stakes or otherwise marking lines, grades, and principal points.
- Determine profiles of the ground along given lines (centerlines and/or cross section lines) to provide data for cuts, fills, and earthwork volumes.
- Layout structures, culverts, and bridge lines.
- Determine the vertical and horizontal placement of utilities, State Highways, City Streets, and Bridges.
- Record and store all data related to above.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
- Prior experience working on a construction surveying party.
- Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial construction stakeout procedures and practices.
- Ability to perform all aspects of data collection in field topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys, and as-built surveys.
- Through knowledge of total station, GPS and data collection, with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies.
- Ability to work outside in all seasons.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
