Job description
The Roleย
You willย be responsible forย building and supporting the Legal function as we launch into the next phase of our hyper-growth. This role will partner directly with the co-founders and leadership team to support company growth and ensure K2 Space provides the best employee experience for our stellar team.ย ย
Asย Director of Contract Negotiation and Administration, you will own a pipeline of $1B+ in public and private contracts, leading negotiations end-to-end across commercial and USG deals, partnering directly with the co-founders to close the agreements that fuel K2's growth.ย This will be theย third hire on the K2 Space legal team and has significant growth potential.ย
Responsibilitiesย
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including procurement/supply chain agreements, subcontracts, vendor agreements, consulting agreements, and purchase ordersย
- Workย hand-in-handย with K2 Space's Supply Chain team to refresh template documents, navigate supplier negotiations, and manage procurement/supply chain issues arising out of IP disputes, late delivery, failure to meet contractual specifications, and similar contentious mattersย
- Streamline the NDA process, including refreshing templates,ย establishingย escalation points, centralizing NDAs, and creating processes to speed up the NDA lifecycleย
- Create document storage protocols and single sources of truth for contract documentation, NDAs, and other key documentsย
- Leadย USG contracting compliance, including assisting in the preparation of USG proposals and the administration of USG contracts, managing K2 Space's SAM registration and similar USG contracting compliance obligations, and rolling outย requiredย policies and proceduresย
Qualificationsย
- Bachelor's Degreeย in Businessย or applicable technical fieldย ย
- An active security clearanceย
- 7+ years of relevant experience as a contracts managerย
- Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume contracts portfolio across both government and commercial clientsย
- Direct experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, including some combination of procurement/supply chain agreements, subcontracts, vendor agreements, consulting agreements, and purchase ordersย
- Familiarity with INCO terms, customs issues, import regulations, and other regulatory mattersย impactingย procurement/supply chainย
- Direct experience administering USG contractsย
- Direct experience drafting and negotiating NDAs - bonus ifย it'sย been in the aerospace, engineering, or technology industriesย
- Strong organizational skillsย ย

Compensation and Benefits:ย
- Base salary range for this role isย $165,000 - $215,000ย + equity in the companyย
