ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Engineer works on a diverse range of structural engineering projects involving both new and existing buildings. Responsibilities include structural analysis and design, field investigations, condition assessments, construction-phase support, preparation of construction documents, and technical report development. This role is ideal for motivated engineers seeking exposure to a wide variety of project types, structural systems, materials, and real-world engineering challenges within a growing and collaborative team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Master's degree with a structural engineering focus preferred.
- 4+ years of structural engineering experience; responsibilities and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing building projects.
- Conduct field investigations, condition assessments, and construction observations.
- Engage with clients, contractors, architects, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting, with increasing responsibility as experience grows.
- Develop design recommendations and technical solutions for structural systems and repairs.
- Prepare construction documents, including Revit models, drawings, details, calculation packages, and technical reports.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, project partners, and internal team members.
- Support construction-phase services through site observations and coordination with the project team.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience designing and evaluating a variety of structural systems and materials.
- Experience with structural analysis software, including finite element analysis (FEA) programs.
- Proficiency with Revit.
- Strong understanding of building codes, industry standards, and construction practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and able to manage tasks and time efficiently.
- Works well with others and contributes positively to team growth.
- Ability to perform field work, including site visits and condition assessments, often requiring walking, climbing, bending, and similar physical activity.
COMPENSATION
- $100,000–$150,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience, plus a competitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan with company matching, and professional development support.
