Job description

We seek an experienced Utility Operations Application Specialist to support our regulated utility's Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platforms. This role serves as a liaison between field/operations teams and technical partners to ensure systems are stable, secure, and optimized for daily operations.

The specialist will troubleshoot complex application and data issues, support reporting and integrations, and manage configurations and enhancements through controlled change processes. Strong utility operations experience and hands-on SQL skills are essential to improve work execution and asset lifecycle processes.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain MWM/EAM systems for reliability and performance.

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support, including triage, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.

  • Manage incidents in ServiceNow; coordinate with internal teams and vendors.

  • Deploy configuration updates and support upgrades/patching under change control.

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.

  • Write and optimize SQL queries for troubleshooting and reporting (Oracle/MS SQL preferred).

  • Support integrations and data flows between systems.

  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and training materials.

  • Assist with desktop/mobile installations (Windows, iOS), connectivity, and security configurations.

  • Conduct system health checks and participate in on-call support.

  • Support new implementations and major upgrades.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 5+ years in utility operations and related systems.

  • Experience supporting MWM and/or EAM in production environments.

  • Strong SQL, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Knowledge of IT service management, change control (ServiceNow/ITIL), and security best practices.

  • Understanding of regulated utility compliance requirements.

  • Strong communication skills; ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Experience with documentation, reporting, and agile methodologies.

Preferred: Experience with IFS MWM, HxGN, Kloudgin, AMI/meter systems (Sensus, Itron, Neptune), APIs/integrations, scripting (Python/PowerShell), AWS certification, and project coordination experience.

Work Environment

Paramus, NJ preferred; hybrid (up to 2 remote days/week). Flexibility required.
