Purpose of Job:

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall All Battery Center (ABC) operations and management, which includes enhancing customer satisfaction, meeting sales and profitability goals, and managing staff effectively. This role will ensure the smooth running of the store to maximize sales and minimize costs. They will also be responsible for managing the store in ways that boost revenues and develop commercial and retail business.

Job Components:

  • Oversee daily store operations, including scheduling, task delegation, and ensuring execution of company policies and procedures

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop staff while coaching, mentoring, and managing performance

  • Drive financial performance by managing budgets, controlling expenses, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and commercial customers through service, sales, and onsite engagement

  • Lead customer service efforts and support direct sales activities, including counter sales and issue resolution

  • Maintain store standards, including opening/closing procedures, cleanliness, organization, and overall operational readiness

  • Execute promotional initiatives and support sales programs to drive revenue growth

  • Monitor store performance, margins, and key metrics to forecast trends and identify growth opportunities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial and operational reports

  • Manage cash handling processes, including deposits, reconciliations, and accounts receivable collections

  • Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, ordering, and coordination of product deliveries and shipments

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a culture of safe work practices

  • Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in business or a related field preferred

  • 2+ years of retail, automotive, or customer service experience; prior supervisory or key holder experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage retail and commercial customers

  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and customer service skills

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating team activities

  • Experience supporting sales initiatives and contributing to sales and marketing strategies in a retail or commercial environment preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel

  • Comfortable using standard business and retail tools, including computers, POS systems, and calculators

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and clean driving record

  • Ability to lift and move heavy products and perform physical tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and installations

  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Scope Data:

  • Interacts with staff, customers and prospects, delivery recipients, and otherscommon to theretail environment

  • Responsible for the management of Assistant Store Manager and Sales Associates

  • Handles financial transactions and cash; responsible and accountable for all store paperwork, budget, and reporting

  • Operate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitude

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed primarily in a retail store setting, however, frequently exposed to dirt and dust, fumes, temperature extremes, dampness, and battery acid.

  • Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and lifting and carrying.

  • Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs

  • Work involves some irregularities and difficulties, repetitive and varied tasks, and possible delivery driving duties.

  • Stress associated with workplace pressure and the retail environment.

  • Occasional travel for work meetings or events is required.

  • Exposed to hazards of the road when driving
