Salary: The budgeted salary rate for the position is $89,273.91 - $93,737.61. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
Summary/Description:The Retzky College of Pharmacy, Department ofPharmacy Practice isseeking a part time, motivated professional for the position of ClinicalInstructor/Clinical Pharmacist who will be assigned to the University of Illinois Hospital & HealthSciences System's Hospital Pharmacy Services.

Duties:TheClinical Instructor/ Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate andefficient review and verification of physicians' medication orders, reconciliationof medications utilized in surgical cases, and works with health care providersand patients to resolve any medication issues. Responsibilities of thisposition also include ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met,directing the activities performed by pharmacy technicians, serving as aresource for the medical and nursing staffs for medication-related questions.
Clinical Instructor academicresponsibilities include the provision of didactic teachingand clinical experiential teaching/training in the Retzky College of Pharmacy'sDoctor of Pharmacy Program and precepting of PGY1 and PGY2 residents.
Minimum Qualifications:Graduate of an ACPE accredited PharmD program.
Licensed, or eligible for, Illinois licensure as a pharmacist by start date.
Clinical experience and practice involving contemporary hospital pharmacy services.
Candidates must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for an academic faculty position in Pharmacy Practice, UIC College of Pharmacy.
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency.
Ten (10) years Inpatient pharmacy experience, excellent interpersonal skills, energetic 'can do' attitude and proven record of positive interactions with other pharmacists, technicians, nurses and physicians.
Experience in the safe handling and preparation of IV admixtures and chemotherapy; compounding
knowledge and skills are aplus.
