Job Summary
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:ย
Mentor and train junior biomedical equipment technicians with in-service educational training on proper use and maintenance of equipmentย
Maintain compliance on company ISO:13485 certification standards/QMP policies and requirements Planning, organizing, and directing the growth, effectiveness and financial performance of the client contract in accordance with company policies and proceduresย
ย Implement KPI improvement strategiesย
Complete all required trainingsย
Analyze, repair, and test electronic and electromechanical equipmentย
ย Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex clinical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.ย
ย Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices and systems, and monitor completion of planned maintenance activities performed by outside vendorsย
Respond expeditiously to calls from clinical departments, and customers to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concernsย
Display effective client service in accordance with client satisfaction survey protocolย
Provide input on client capital replacement strategies for medical equipment and the maintenance requirementsย
Lead team huddles and meetingsย
Flexibility to work augmented shifts based on unit needs and client contractual requirementsย
Maintain an orderly and functional working environment, ensuring tools and test equipment are calibrated and functional before useย
Supervise and instruct biomedical equipment maintenance personnel in the safe use, application, testing, planned maintenance and repair of all types of clinical equipment technologies and systemsย
Mentor and train junior biomedical equipment technicians with in-service educational training on proper use and maintenance of equipmentย
Provide recognition for employee when programs are implemented with successย
Manage disciplinary issues and other employee relations concerns with guidance from Human Resourcesย
Complete annual employee performance evaluations, competency assessments, training plans, and merit increases on a timely basis.ย
Establish and administer on-call schedule; assume on-call responsibilities as necessaryย
Prepare, present, and explain the equipment database (CMMS) reportsย
Maintain accurate inventory and documentation on all equipment, inspections and equipment repairs and failuresย
Make recommendations to the Department Manager regarding service strategies on equipment; keep supervisor informed of activities, needs and problems.ย
Provide accurate and timely database management of CMMS in accordance with QMS policies and proceduresย
Review outcome of planned maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvementsย
Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters. Generate purchase orders and effectively find second-source partsย
Maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and testsย
Perform other duties as assigned that are intrinsic to the successful operation of the businessย
QUALIFICATIONS:ย
Education:ย
โข Associateโs Degree in biomedical equipment technology or electronic equipment or equivalentย
โข CABT, A+, etc, Certifications preferredย
โข Military training preferredย
Experience:ย
โข Minimum of five years servicing a broad representation of clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environmentย
โข In-depth knowledge of electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair, and planned maintenance of electronic and electromechanical equipmentย
