    About the position:

    ING Americas is further developing its product offering in the Transaction Services area and is looking for a local product manager that can support the launch and development of local cash management capabilities.

    ING Transaction Services Product Management is structured around central expertise of Global Product Managers, such as for payments, connectivity and channels, reporting, billing etc., combined with local product managers that act as subject matter experts for the region they represent.

    The Local Product Manager Transaction Services Cash Products in New York is responsible for building up local capabilities, unlocking business potential and activating new client/market opportunities for ING Wholesale Banking's multinational Corporate and Financial Institution customers operating in the United States of America.

    You work in close cooperation with the other TS Product Managers, colleagues in TS Sales, Client Services, Operations, IT and Risk Management counterparts as well as with other stakeholders in- and outside of ING. You represent your country in the TS Product Management Network, which covers TS Product Management in Europe and Asia.

    Execution and implementation of TS products will be done in close collaboration with you, but managed by ING's Delivery Management specialists.

    You will share a responsibility with the local TS Sales team to improve ING's performance, measured through customer satisfaction, and identify opportunities to better serve and delight our customers. In addition, you are responsible to translate customer needs and market trends concerning 'Daily Banking' solutions into concrete proposals and tailored solutions.

    About the department:

    Transaction Services (TS) is one of ING Wholesale Banking's (WB) main business lines. We offer a suite of WB products and services to corporate and institutional clients and are expanding that to a local Unites Sates offering. Our strategy is aimed at ensuring that we continue to support sustained growth for the WB by delivering competitive and relevant TS products.

    Responsibilities :

    • Wholesale Banking Transaction Services is an international environment. You are active in cross-border interaction (within and outside the Transaction Services domain)
    • As a Local Product Manager you represent the voice of the customer, have a strong vision on how to develop and maintain our PCM offering to attract customers and focus on continuously improving the product experience. You therefore collaborate closely with sales colleagues and bankers in the region
    • You share responsibility for designing, developing & operating PCM solutions for our clients that allow them to stay a step ahead in life and business by:
    • Working with our delivery management teams to seamless integrate the value chain of our clients and by connecting it with other internal and external capabilities
    • ensuring enhanced customer experience throughout the customer journey from pre sales to onboarding to in life management
    • You take ownership on risk management and follow the appropriate procedures to assess and mitigate financial risk and non-financial risk while operating simple standardized business processes, in order to protect the organization from undue risks
    • You have a constant focus on cost efficiency in order to be able to compete in the market
    • You play a proactive role in setting priorities based on customer needs and supported by business cases and rationale for product development and change within your country
    • You participate in high-performing teams and remove impediments
    • You are accountable for executing risk & control compliancy and mitigation of business and operational risks.
    • You maintain contact with external parties and stakeholders (suppliers, industry experts, consultants, regulators etc)
    • You collect relevant industry-related trends and information to be used in the course of carrying out their role
    • You develop and propose strategies for project-related tasks and other initiatives requiring follow-up and/or intervention from front office teams, including evaluating potential impact of IT changes and migrations on our clients
    • You will represent Wholesale Banking Transaction Services in Incident Management processes and advise on follow-up actions and communication towards clients

    Qualifications and Competencies

    • Higher education or University education (Bachelor or Master's degree) preferably in Economics, Accounting or Finance
    • Excellent level in English both written and verbal
    • 10 + years of work experience in servicing and advising multinational clients in the areas of Transaction Services in the United States, including Payments, Channels, Cash & Liquidity and Trade
    • Very strong knowledge of the US payment landscape and payment types, a subject matter expert for FedWire Payments, ACH payments, direct payments, local reporting formats etc.
    • A sound understanding of daily banking products (both Cash and Trade), Client Servicing and other related client needs
    • Proven track record in product and/or program management
    • Ability to steer and guide large and complex projects or changes within or outside of the bank
    • An entrepreneur that combines client focus with delivery power
    • You have strong organizational sensitivity skills, you understand and take into account the underlying issues, opportunities and dynamics of a global organization with multiple functional and hierarchical lines and deal with multiple (sometimes conflicting) interests
    • You can display style flexibility with teams and individuals where needed being able to adapt plan, approach and behavior to different needs and situations
    • You have strong communication skills; you like to connect with people and clear (international) communication is easy for you
    • You can cooperate well with senior client representatives and different types of internal stakeholders

    Salary Range $195,000-$247,000

    The salary range listed reflects base salary only. This role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
