About the Role
Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) New York office is looking for Project Manager - Civil to join our Team! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality, responsiveness, and a proven track record of success as a Primecivil engineering firm. As a Project Manager - Civil, you will be responsible for the successful completion and delivery of assigned projects. As the primary contact with the clients, the Project Manager also plays a key role in maintaining clients' confidence by safeguarding their interests and striving to achieve their goals within the confines of the executed contract. Essential Duties/Functions and Responsibilities
* Attends client and public meetings (days, evenings, or nights).
* Coordinates with all disciplines (internal and external) involved in project delivery and ensures that the project team understands their scope, schedules, and budgets.
* Coordinates with the Design Group Manager and/or Operations Manager to plan and secure the required technical and tangible resources for project delivery.
* Coordinates work with the clients and other team members.
* May assist in reviewing the contracts to safeguard the firm's exposure against risks associated with scope, fees, and schedule along with contract language which allocates unreasonable and uninsurable liability to the firm.
* May negotiate contracts with clients along with developing scope, fees, and schedule.
* May provide constructability reviews and value engineering reviews.
* May secure executed contracts, Notice to Proceed, and Sub Consultant Agreements prior to the inception of project services.
* May serve as an onsite project representative and/or provide construction observation duties in the field.
* Monitors clients' project delivery goals and proactively identifies issues and obstacles which may compromise or influence the achievement of such goals.
* Monitors project delivery in relation to the contracted scope and fees. Promptly identifies client-requested out-of-scope services and works diligently with the client in either securing additional compensation or limiting efforts to the contracted scope of work while ensuring the client is aware of the limits of negotiated scope.
* Prepares complex reports, studies, and permits for projects.
* Prepares design computations, plans, and related construction documents.
* Prepares quantity and cost estimates.
* Responsible for the organization of project documents and files.
* Responsible for the technical accuracy and competency of projects.
* Responsible for using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
* Schedules project progress meetings with all disciplines and personnel to monitor project progress as defined by management.
* Signs and seals assigned project documents.
* Visits the construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.

* The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience as Civil Engineer, including a minimum of 5 years as a Project Manager and experience as a Civil Engineer.
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on civil engineering is required; and must possess a PE License in NY and/or NJ.
* Master's Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Fundamental knowledge of civil engineering.
* Proven leadership skills with engineering staff and organizations.
* Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment who can work on and contribute to several projects simultaneously.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Physical Demands

Working Conditions
* IEI will provide a company vehicle for fieldwork with acceptable driver's record.
* Must be physically capable of walking and moving about on the construction sites, have good hand-eye coordination, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
* Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions or in-progress construction hazards: fumes, toxic chemicals, risk of electric shock, and vibration. Often works around dust, asphalt, and concrete.
* Sometimes needs to put in extra hours, including weekends, to keep up with intense construction work at times and deal with unexpected situations and accidents.
* Spends some time working indoors to review blueprints and write reports.
* Usually works a standard 40-hour workweek either daytime or nighttime.
* Usually works in outside weather conditions.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Pay Range: $130,000 - $190,000 per year
