Job description

Purpose of Position:

Manage dispatch and inside sales. Oversee the process of taking concrete orders from customers, in an efficient manner while ensuring all appropriate questions are asked, including but not limited to, information about the type of pour that is being made, specific directions to the job locations, scheduling, etc, while maintaining customer service and satisfaction, making the most efficient use of company assets.  Direct drivers with regards to deliveries and additional tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work well within a team and build customer relationships.
  • Assist customers in their project needs through accurately processing orders.
  • Provide value based product solutions through consultative selling process.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by keeping them up to date on challenges that affect the delivery cycle.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as established by team leaders and management.
  • Oversee projects and pricing.
  • Coordinate customer orders and scheduling with plant managers.
  • Oversee the resource management of the fleet of trucks which he/she has been assigned, as well as manage all personnel.
  • Ensure customer service issues are addressed and take appropriate actions.
  • Determine the most profitable customers, coordinate with Sales and Operations Manager on how to best utilize the fleet.
  • Maintain reports of customer complaints and resolution.
  • Supervise/manage inside sales and dispatch team.
  • Demonstrates  commitment to communicating, improving & adhering to safety policies in all environments and areas.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree a plus.  Or equivalent industry experience.
  • Knowledge of operations, sales, and accounting in the industry a plus.
  • Previous dispatching experience and good geographical knowledge of the local area.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to respond to common inquiries and/or customer complaints as well as those from the business community.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent organizational planning ability and customer service/phone skills with the ability to resolve problems/issues.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, high-volume environment.
  • Sales and management experience preferred.
  • Concrete experience is a preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google, as well as knowledge of working with Command Series or related computer system software.
  • Ability and availability for occasional overnight travel.
  • Bilingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus.
