Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Chief of Investigations, duties include but are not limited to facility security, staffing a magnetometer, screening, and directing visitors, logging evidence and writing reports when required. A Security Officer is responsible for assisting Investigators in collecting and analyzing information from a variety of sources. They are required to run criminal histories providing the information to and assisting Investigators in achieving case objectives.
Security Officers are required to respond anywhere in the Attorney General's Office in the event of emergencies and to assist employees of the Attorney General's Office in the event of unruly or distraught clients or visitors.
Qualifications
This position requires a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field or a minimum of three (3) years of law enforcement experience and certification of an agency approved training program from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board. This position requires a working knowledge of law enforcement procedures and a basic knowledge of state, federal and local laws and regulations. Basic computer skills are required. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are required.
