Job description

Overview

Our team is seeking a Lifecycle Logistician to support the development and execution of product support and sustainment strategies for a Department of Defense acquisition program.

This role requires a strong understanding of DoD lifecycle logistics principles to ensure sustainment planning, logistics documentation, and Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities are executed in accordance with DoD policy and program objectives while collaborating with stakeholders across the program office.

If you excel at developing sustainment strategies, coordinating logistics planning across multidisciplinary teams, and supporting complex acquisition programs throughout the system lifecycle, this role is a great fit.

This position will support work on-site at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and maintain Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs) and other logistics documentation in accordance with DoD policies and guidance.
  • Support the planning, development, and execution of Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with program managers, systems engineers, contracting personnel, configuration managers, and other stakeholders to ensure sustainment requirements are integrated into program planning and execution.
  • Conduct logistics analyses to support maintenance planning, provisioning, supply support, technical data, support equipment, training, and other product support elements.
  • Participate in technical and program reviews to provide lifecycle logistics recommendations and ensure supportability considerations are incorporated into system development.
  • Identify logistics risks and sustainment challenges and develop recommended mitigation strategies.
  • Support planning for fielding, transition to sustainment, and long-term product support.
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc logistics reports, status updates, executive briefings, and other program documentation to support leadership decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics planning processes, documentation quality, and sustainment effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field and 3-10 years of relevant experience required. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Active Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to maintain the security clearance required for this position.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Lifecycle Logistics Expertise

Working knowledge of DoD Integrated Product Support (IPS) principles, sustainment planning, and lifecycle logistics processes supporting defense acquisition programs.

Logistics Planning

Experience developing or supporting logistics documentation, sustainment strategies, maintenance planning, provisioning, fielding, or Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs).

Analytical Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate logistics requirements, identify sustainment risks, and develop practical solutions.

Communication Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate logistics concepts and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Attention to Detail

Exceptional attention to detail to ensure logistics documentation, analyses, and program deliverables are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable guidance.

Preferred

  • Prior experience supporting a DoD Program Executive Office (PEO), Project Manager (PM), or Program Office in a lifecycle logistics or Integrated Product Support role.
  • Familiarity with Army acquisition processes and lifecycle sustainment planning.
  • Experience supporting medical devices, electronic systems, sensors, or C5ISR programs.
  • DAWIA (or Back-to-Basics) Life Cycle Logistics Practitioner or Advanced certification, or equivalent professional certifications such as Certified Professional Logistician (SOLE).
  • Experience with logistics and program management tools such as Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Power BI, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience supporting Product Support Analysis (PSA), Product Support Management, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM), or Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) activities.
