Job description

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Manufacturing Technician – Test 1 is responsible for performing testing and verification activities on cable assemblies, sub-assemblies, and electronic components in accordance with established procedures, engineering instructions, and quality requirements. This position supports manufacturing operations by executing standardized testing processes, documenting results, identifying non-conformances, and escalating issues as needed. To excel in this role, you must be able to communicate clearly, follow detailed instructions, and work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Including but not limited to:

  • Perform testing of cable assemblies, sub-assemblies, circuit boards, and related products in accordance with approved test procedures and engineering instructions.
  • Operate test equipment and systems to verify product performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Follow all established testing protocols and quality requirements.
  • Print, save, and maintain test records and supporting documentation as required.
  • Record serial numbers, complete production transactions, and accurately document test results.
  • Conduct visual inspections of test adapters, fixtures, and products before and after testing.
  • Identify and report defects, non-conformances, or testing anomalies.
  • Assist with troubleshooting test-related issues and escalate concerns to Engineering or leadership as appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with quality management system requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain Certified Test Operator status as required.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and team members regarding production and testing issues.
  • Support cross-functional manufacturing activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to follow written work instructions, procedures, and engineering documentation.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate product defects or process issues.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use manufacturing software and electronic documentation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently on routine tasks while seeking guidance when needed.
  • Basic electronics and electrical knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of manufacturing, assembly, testing, or related hands-on experience preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills required.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment preferred.


PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires visual acuity to inspect components and identify defects.
  • Requires manual dexterity and fine motor skills for handling small components and test equipment.
  • This position is conducted primarily in a warehouse and production environment and involves frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting, and handling materials. Work may require operating material-handling equipment and performing tasks in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial conditions.   • Must be a U.S. citizen


HOURS:

  • Full-time position.
  • Standard work schedule is a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business and production demands.
