Position Description

1. Perform repair and maintenance on semi-trailers, including structural and mechanical components
2. Conduct DOT inspections and ensure trailers meet safety standards
3. Diagnose and repair air brake systems (lines, chambers, valves, ABS components)
4. Perform welding and fabrication on both aluminum and carbon steel components
5. Troubleshoot and repair 12-volt electrical systems, including lights, wiring, and connections
6. Mount, dismount, and repair tires as needed
7. Operate a yard dog truck to move trailers safely within the facility
8. Perform general maintenance/mechanical duties
9. Maintain a clean and organized work area
10. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repairs and timelines

Position Requirements

1. Experience working on semi-trailers or heavy-duty equipment preferred
2. Proficiency in aluminum and carbon steel welding
3. Knowledge of air brake systems and trailer components
4. Ability to perform and document DOT inspections
5. Experience with 12V electrical systems and diagnostics and repair
6. Ability to safely operate a yard dog truck
7. Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
8. Strong communication skills
9. Previous shop or fleet maintenance experience preferred
10. Class A-CDL (not required, but helpful)
11. Ability to read a tape measure accurately
12. Good time management skills required.
13. Ability to lift 100 pounds required.
14. Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer and pre-employment contingencies.
15. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
