Dockmaster

Location: Hingham, MA 02043

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dockmaster to oversee daily operations at our marina located in Hingham, MA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing dock activities, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of boaters, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the marina facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily dock operations, including boat arrivals, departures, and mooring assignments.
  • Provide excellent customer service to boaters, addressing questions, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with all marina rules, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of docks, piers, and surrounding marina areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections of docks, pilings, and equipment to identify and report maintenance needs.
  • Assist with fueling operations and monitor fuel inventory as needed.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff and contractors for repairs and improvements.
  • Manage dock reservations, billing, and record-keeping accurately.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate appropriate actions to ensure safety.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in marina operations, dock management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of boating safety, docking procedures, and marina equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license; boating certification or license is a plus.
  • Ability to lift moderate weights and perform physical tasks as required.
Work Environment

This position requires working primarily outdoors on docks and marina grounds. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours during peak boating seasons is essential.
