Administrative Assistant, Project Succeed (Grant Funded)
Highland Community College is seeking a skilled and motivated Administrative Assistant; Project Succeed to support the daily operations of a federally funded student support program. This full-time position is contingent upon the availability of grant funding and is integral to supporting student success through administrative excellence and program coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather, enter, and update information in databases for reports and other documents.
  • Generate necessary forms and maintain records and files.
  • Provide administrative support, including preparing correspondence and other written documents.
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints, and determine appropriate resolutions.
  • Schedule and prepare for meetings, manage mail, appointments, and calendar.
  • Create and distribute the departmental newsletter, including editing, publishing, and printing.
  • Order and maintain inventory of office supplies; process purchase orders and invoices.
  • Prepare and process financial documents, including check requests, travel and expense reports.
  • Inform program students of events, meetings, and schedule changes.
  • Participate in committees or employee work groups, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Two years of office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Understanding of office administration principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with office equipment, computer operations, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prepare and format reports, maintain records, and handle data with confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compose professional documents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.

  • Salary Range: $17.57 - $26.35 per hour
