    Job Description Summary

    Directs and manages the day-to-day security operations for a large nonprofit organization site located in Oakland, serving hundreds of employees and thousands of daily visitors. Serves as the primary security authority and liaison between the client and HighCom Security Services. Oversees security personnel, procedures, training, and emergency preparedness while developing and implementing the strategic direction of the site's security program tailored to the client's operational needs.


    Job Requirements, Prerequisites, and Essential Functions

    Job Specifications

    Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience required

    Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible security management experience
    Training or demonstrated knowledge in report writing
    Military or law enforcement experience needed


    License and Certifications

    Valid California Security Guard Card required. Must be eligible to legally carry a firearm (CCW), if required by assignment or client contract

Information includes incident reports, emergency procedures, training records, security plans, personnel documentation, and related materials.     Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential (Not Modifiable)

    Operations

    • Oversees the entire security operation of the site and ensures the highest level of security services are consistently provided
    • Ensures security procedures deliver coherent, efficient, and comprehensive solutions for all site security needs
    • Maintains awareness of all security incidents and ensures accurate and timely documentation
    • Serves as the primary point of contact and liaison between the client and HighCom Security Services
    • Provides guidance and counsel to client leadership regarding security-related expectations
    • Maintains close vigilance of campus visitors while fostering a welcoming and professional environment
    • Monitors site-specific and surrounding areas for potential security threats

    Emergency Preparedness & Threat Management

    • Maintains and updates the Emergency Procedures Manual and security protocols covering fire, natural disasters, and security threats
    • Continuously monitors local, national, and international threat levels and adjusts staffing, posture, and procedures accordingly
    • Enhances security operations through ongoing review of procedures, activities, training, and technology

    Training & Staff Development

    • Assesses and conducts training for security personnel and client staff
    • Trains new security staff on post orders, site-specific policies, and company procedures
    • Develops, schedules, and maintains a training calendar for recurring training, drills, safety meetings, and policy updates
    • Provides training to client staff, up to and including senior management, as required

    Policy & Procedure Management

    • Creates, updates, and enforces post orders, security policies, and procedures
    • Reviews reports, tracks activities, and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
    • Addresses concerns, complaints, and suggestions from security personnel, the client, and the public

    Community & Agency Relations

    • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with community partners and agencies, including local, state, and federal law enforcement
    • Coordinates with external agencies to support site security operations

    Administration

    • Provides leadership, direction, and accountability for site security personnel
    • Performs additional security-related duties as required
