Washington Nationals Baseball & Softball Camps deliver summer baseball experiences that kids can’t get at any other summer camp. Designed for ages 5-13, At Nationals Camps, young fans learn the game, celebrate Nats traditions, and feel the magic of being part of the Washington Nationals family. Each day blends baseball joy, Big League moments, and unforgettable memories - all designed with intention. Campers build confidence, form friendships, and get exclusive access to the energy, history, and culture of the Nationals.

As the Site Director, you are responsible for delivering high-quality, intentional weeks of camp that reflect Washington Nationals tradition, Headfirst standards, and a fan-first approach to programming across baseball and softball camps. You oversee daily operations, lead and support your on-site leadership team and coaches, and make real-time decisions that keep camp running smoothly and safely.

Beyond structure and logistics, Site Directors are the spark behind the experience. You set the tone each week by bringing professionalism, positive energy, and genuine team pride while leaning into creativity and play. You help turn ordinary camp days into memorable baseball and softball moments by building traditions, excitement, and a sense of belonging for every camper.

From arrival to dismissal, you sweat the details, support your staff, and help create a camp experience kids remember long after the season ends.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:15 am-4:00 pm
• Time Commitment: Available for pre-camp training and all weeks of programming
  
• Compensation: Starting at $22 / hour with up to 3.75 hours of overtime per week paid at 1.5x rate
  
• Required Certification: In-person/hybrid Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certification, or the ability to complete these prior to May 30.

• Campers and staff of all backgrounds and gender identities are welcome at camp. 

• We are a phone-free and nut-free working environment. 

• Serve as the on-site leader responsible for the overall quality, safety, and flow of each camp day

• Lead, support, and develop the on-site leadership team and coaching staff

• Set the tone for a fun, welcoming, and inclusive camp environment that reflects Nationals pride, teamwork, and Headfirst standards

• Bring the experience to life on site by creating World Series moments, establishing camp rituals, and building excitement and pride throughout the week

• Use a genuine love for the game of baseball to inspire campers and staff, reinforcing confidence, teamwork, and joy

• Support leadership staff and coaches with camper engagement, behavior support, and smooth daily transitions

• Partner closely with the Customer Experience Coordinator to ensure families feel informed and supported

• Collaborate with the Safety & Operations Coordinator to ensure spaces, equipment, and materials are organized and safe

• Oversee smooth transitions into extended-day programming and support continuity of the camper experience

• Make real-time decisions and address challenges calmly and effectively

• Participate in weekly Site Director meetings and collaborate with Headquarters on continuous improvement

• Represent the Washington Nationals and Headfirst with professionalism, energy, and pride

• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support a high-quality camp experience

• Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent professional leadership experience in youth programs, education, sports, or a related field

• Experience leading teams in camps, sports-based youth programs, education, or similar environments

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Calm, solution-oriented leadership style in fast-paced settings

• Enjoy creating engaging, confidence-building experiences for kids

• Dedicated to the camp’s mission, program quality, and team environment for the full camp season

• Possess or able to obtain valid CPR/First Aid Certification prior to camp

• Able to work long hours outdoors and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment

• Committed to adhering to and enforcing the camp’s Cell-Phone Free policy
