SUMMARY
Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on small to large, complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects and all types of contracts. This position supports accurate pricing, risk evaluation, and pursuit strategy for treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, wells, pipelines, and related systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Prepare complete quantity takeoffs and discipline estimates for water and wastewater construction projects.
  • Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and indirect cost pricing.
  • Maintain organized estimating files and backup documentation supporting estimate figures and assumptions.
  • Estimate treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, process/mechanical piping, concrete structures, earthwork, and site utilities.
  • Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
  • Review design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, constructability, and schedule impacts.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction teams as required, including assistance on alternate delivery pursuits.

QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent combination of technical training and relevant experience preferred. 5-8 years of estimating experience in water/wastewater, heavy civil, or similar infrastructure construction. Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, construction methods, and cost control systems required. Experience with Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, and Design-Build delivery methods preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with estimating and takeoff software are required. Excellent MS Office skills are required, in addition to experience utilizing scheduling and bid/estimating software.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer, communicate verbally, and attend meetings. Occasional standing, walking, or job site visits required. May lift up to 25 pounds.
