Position Overview

The Haven Family Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify clients' mental health challenges and needs, developing personalized treatment plans accordingly.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions using a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches aimed at fostering personal growth.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish therapeutic goals, regularly reviewing progress and modifying treatment plans as necessary.
  • Offer teletherapy options to reach clients who may encounter difficulties accessing traditional face-to-face sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation to uphold ethical standards and support the treatment process.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to refine your clinical skills and stay informed about the latest trends in therapy practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a broad spectrum of clients, including individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational issues. The diverse backgrounds of our clientele require therapists who can demonstrate empathy, active listening, and understanding of their unique experiences. You will engage with clients from various age groups, providing both individual and group therapy that effectively addresses their specific mental health needs.

Qualifications
  • Must possess an active and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster trusting relationships with clients.
  • Ability to exhibit empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients’ experiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage caseloads and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting, particularly with individuals facing addiction and recovery challenges, is highly valued.
  • Experience with family dynamics and systemic therapy approaches is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and best practices in virtual counseling.
