SUMMARY: Effectively and efficiently program, setup,and operate multiple CNC and mechanical machinery including Lathes, Mill, andBrake Presses. Operate reamers, saws, milling machine, forming press,flattening press, drill press, and punch press and other machines and equipmentin repetitive-type machining of various product components. Perform ordinarysetups and adjustments. The machinist will be responsible for all programming,setups, and general attributes of CNC and mechanical machining processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
• Possessthe ability to read and interpret complex to simple drawings.
• Mustbe able to solely write, modify, and interpret CNC programs; create andfabricate custom jigs and setups as needed.
• Mustbe able to set up and run mechanical equipment such as lathes, mills, punchpresses and other mechanical equipment.
• Performprecise measurements using calipers, micrometers, venire height gages, pluggages, and other various measuring instruments.
• Mustfollow and observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Maintaina clean and safe work area.
• Producea quality product in reference to supplied drawings.
• Mustpossess extensive experience with carbide and high speed tooling, andfabricating custom tooling when needed.

EDUCATION AND/OREXPERIENCE
Qualified candidates should possess anAssociate's Degree or trade certification in CNC machining or possessequivalent experience (3-5years) in the programming and operation of CNC andmechanical machining processes. Other combinations of experience and education whichmeet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints,instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groupsituations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICALSKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and dividein all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, anddecimals. Ability to compute rate,ratio, percent, and perform trigonometric and geometric calculations.
REASONINGABILITY
Abilityto apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oralinstructions. Must be able to work ina team environment and participate, contribute and support all team activities.
PHYSICALDEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, theemployee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with handsand arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. While performing the duties of this job, theemployee is required to stand for the entire shift. The employee must be ableto occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by thisjob include peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORKENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, theemployee is frequently exposed to moving machining equipment, moving mechanicalparts, dirt, oil, grease, metal shavings, and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed toextreme heat and there is always the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment issometimes loud with exposures ranging from 80db to more than 100 db at certaintimes. Specified safety equipment shallbe used at all times while operating equipment or performing tasks within thisposition. Shift and hours are variabledue to machine breakdowns and projects.
