Job description

SUMMARY
The reliable and skilled Maintenance Handyman is to perform general maintenance and repair work for commercial or industrial properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and troubleshooting maintenance issues while ensuring facilities remain safe and functional. This is a full-time position responsible for our branches primarily located in the Greater St. Louis area, with secondary responsibility for our out-of-town branches as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems
  • Handle minor plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixtures
  • Perform basic electrical work including replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and bulbs
  • Complete carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, cabinets, drywall, and flooring
  • Paint and patch walls as needed
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
  • Assemble furniture, install fixtures, and complete general handyman tasks
  • Perform simple landscaping, pruning, and planting of bushes and trees
  • Set up and assist with Bank events at any Bank branch location
  • Perform spring and fall cleanup/landscaping maintenance; cold weather snow removal on sidewalk; cleanup after severe weather events
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
  • Keep accurate records of completed work and maintenance activities

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or similar role
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general repair work
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and time-management abilities
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to use a ladder reaching up to 12 feet
  • Ability to work in various physical conditions to include working outside in all weather conditions as needed
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation required

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • HVAC certification or trade experience
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs
  • Basic computer or mobile app skills for work orders
  • Customer service experience
