This is a senior Java full stack hands-on developer role. The contractor should be technically very strong, quick learner, and confident to mentor/guide junior developers when needed.
Responsibilities
· Provides advanced level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of cloud native applications and databases under general direction.
· In this role you will: Improve technology stack comprised of fit-for-purpose platforms, tools, and languages.
· Operate in a highly collaborative team emphasizing best practices in platform modernization, resiliency, platform availability and DevOps.
· Build cloud-first, customer-focused applications applying lean agile methodologies.
· Keep projects on track by communicating with stake holders, spotting potential issues, resolving technical problems, and providing high quality technical work while mentoring junior developers when needed. Provide recommendations on development options, including design, build and deployments.
Qualifications
· Required skills and required experience:
· 4+ Years sophisticated API experience with developing Java REST Services – Spring, Spring Boot
· At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS.
· Good understanding of services like Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, S3, ECS and IAM is required.
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum SDLC.
· Overall 5+ years software engineering experience
· Familiarity with DevOps concepts, tools, and CI/CD pipelines – Bamboo, Bitbucket, Jira, Git, etc
· Ability to implement design patterns, integration patterns/practice, and data modeling principles.
· Undergraduate degree in a Computer Science or Software Engineering or the equivalent combination of training and experience
· Thirst for learning new technologies quickly and demonstrate a hands-on understanding.
*** Nice to have:
· 2+ years of Python scripting experience.
