    Position Description Off Premise Salesperson

    Reports to: Area Sales Manager

     

    Position Objective:

    The Off Premise Salesperson is responsible for improving the sales of company products in each assigned account.

    Description of Physical Tasks:

     

    Keep shelves and vendors clean. Place product on hand truck or dolly (approximately 20 to 50 lbs per case). Pushes/pulls hand truck to machine or shelves and loads appropriate Goldring Gulf Distributing Company. Climbing in and out of vehicle and proper lifting techniques.

     

    Responsibilities Include:

    1. Conduct a complete sales call on all assigned accounts on the proper day and in the established sequence.
    1. Sell and merchandise all beer and non-alcoholic products in accordance with the standards of Goldring Gulf Distributing Company.
    1. Work with all your retailers to equalize order quantities between their scheduled deliveries.
    1. Ensure all paper and permanent Point of Sale is used in the proper manner and quantity.
    1. Use you sales history data in each account as a selling tool. Ensure that all products are reviewed on every sales call to prevent out of stocks and call-ins.
    1. Use the PIITCHER selling process on sales calls every day.
    1. Request one additional placement, ad, display, sign, static, price reduction, etc. on each sales call.
    1. Keep marketing plan and all tracking charts updated daily.
    1. Actively participate in all incentive programs.
    1. When necessary call back on accounts to assist or complete the merchandising of delivered product.
    1. Prepare for the Delivery Driver/Merchandiser the P.O.S. materials they will need to properly service your accounts on the next business day.
    1. Properly prepare presold accounts for the next scheduled delivery.
    1. Sell an adequate amount of Goldring Gulf Distributing products to each account to ensure no Out Of Stocks until the next scheduled delivery.
    1. Maintain a positive working relationship with the owners, managers and employees of your assigned accounts.
    1. When possible avoid retailer contacts during their busy times.
    1. Be aware of all competitive activity and opportunities to increase sales in your assigned accounts.
    1. Check and note pricing on all competitive products to ensure parity.
    1. Pursue new placements and lower PTCs on all special promotions or new everyday lower prices on the products you sell and merchandise.
    1. Request competitors shelf space for new placements or for expanding your existing placements.
    1. Work with your assigned account to improve your shelf position within their cooler, warm shelf, and the placement of floor displays.
    1. Advise and train the retailers and their employees in the proper methods of selling, merchandising, and pricing of the products you supply to them.
    1. Demonstrate a sincere interest in the business success of each account that is assigned to you.
    1. Maintain open and clear communications with the owners, managers, and other employees of Goldring Gulf Distributing Company.

    1. Report to your Area Sales Manager all new competitive activity in your accounts.
    1. Forward to your Area Sales Manager immediately all competitive price information.
    1. At weekly sales meeting, share information with the other employees that will benefit the company.
    1. Have your orders available for downloading at the assigned times.
    1. Communicate to the Deliver Driver(s) the tasks they need to perform regarding displays, placements, POS, and other duties.
    1. Ensure proper stock rotation is in effect in all your assigned accounts.
    1. When necessary have close dated product returned to the warehouse for re-delivery to another account that can sell it prior to going out-of-date.
    1. Always be aware of code dates and have product that is at jeopardy of going out-of-date swapped before it goes Out-of-Date.
    1. Ensure that all packages are sellable and have damaged product swapped or re-packed.
    1. Keep your vehicle clean and orderly at all times.
    1. Ensure your vehicle is serviced at regular intervals and repaired when necessary to minimize breakdowns.
    1. Dress and maintain your personal appearance in a professional manner and according to company policy.
    1. Properly operate, protect from damage, and return all equipment that has been issued to you (i.e. radios, hand trucks, vehicles, etc.).
    1. Conduct all your activities within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
    1. Report immediately to your Area Sales Manager of any traffic violations, on or off duty that may affect your insurability.
    1. Conduct all of your activities in accordance to the local, state and federal liquor control regulations.
    1. Report all accidents and injuries immediately to your Area Sales Manager.
    1. Perform all work activities in accordance to the safe work practices, policies and procedures
