Make a Meaningful Impact Every Day
At GT Independence, people are at the heart of everything we do. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, love what you do, and are eager to grow, you're in the right place. Discover a career where your work genuinely improves lives and supports a mission that matters.
Our Mission
To help people live a life of their choosing, regardless of age or ability.
GT Independence has earned multiple awards for being an exceptional workplace, including being named a 2026 National "Best and Brightest Companies to Work For." We are also proudly certified as a Great Place to Work® for 2025/2026-a distinction reserved for top employers committed to outstanding employee experiences.
The Director of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for establishing, leading, and governing a centralized EPMO that drives execution discipline, prioritization, and value realization across the organization. This role ensures that strategic initiatives, operational programs, and technology investments are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to private equity value-creation objectives.
This is a senior leadership role, not an administrative PMO. The Director is accountable for enterprise delivery outcomes, portfolio transparency, and executive decision support. The ideal candidate brings a consulting-trained mindset or prior enterprise PMO leadership experience, with the credibility to influence executives and impose structure across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise PMO Strategy and Governance
  • Establish and lead an enterprise-wide PMO framework, including standards, methodologies, tools, and governance models.
  • Define portfolio management processes to prioritize initiatives based on strategic alignment, ROI, risk, and capacity.
  • Ensure consistent execution discipline across business, operational, and technology projects.
  • Partner with the Product Management and executive leadership to embed governance into how work is chartered, approved, and closed.

Portfolio and Program Management
  • Oversee the enterprise project and program portfolio, providing clear visibility into status, dependencies, risks, and financial impact.
  • Partner with executive leadership to resolve resource conflicts and make trade-off decisions.
  • Ensure benefits realization and post-implementation value tracking against the Value Creation Plan.
  • Provide portfolio-level reporting to the CEO, President & COO, CAO, CFO, CIO, CCO, and the Board.

Private Equity and Executive Enablement
  • Support PE value-creation initiatives, add-on integrations, and transformation programs with rigorous execution oversight.
  • Prepare executive and board-level reporting with clear, concise, decision-ready insights.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on delivery risk, sequencing, and execution feasibility.

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
  • Apply Lean and process improvement principles to improve delivery efficiency and reduce execution friction.
  • Embed standard practices for scope control, change management, risk management, and issue escalation.
  • Drive consistency without unnecessary bureaucracy.

PMO Team Leadership and Capability Building
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing EPMO team, including senior project managers, project managers, and project coordinators.
  • Define role clarity, performance expectations, and career development paths.
  • Coach leaders and teams on enterprise delivery best practices and executive stakeholder engagement.

Tools, Metrics, and Transparency
  • Own PMO tools, dashboards, and reporting standards (Monday.com, Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner/Project, Power BI, SharePoint).
  • Define and track KPIs related to delivery performance, resource utilization, and benefits realization.
  • Ensure leadership has a single source of truth for enterprise execution.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field; MBA or Master's preferred.
  • 8-12 years of progressive experience in project, program, or portfolio management.
  • 5+ years leading enterprise change or transformation initiatives.
  • Prior experience as a Senior Manager, Principal, or Director at a top-tier management consulting firm OR proven enterprise PMO leadership at a comparable operating company.
  • PMP or PgMP certification required (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence C-suite executives and impose structure across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a private equity-backed portfolio company, ideally supporting a value creation plan.
  • Experience in healthcare, Medicaid, HCBS, financial management services, payroll, or financial services.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent process improvement certification.
  • Experience integrating acquisitions and standing up post-close operating rhythms.
  • Familiarity with modern PMO tooling and reporting stacks (Monday.com, Smartsheet, Power BI, Jira, Confluence).

Success Measures in the First 12 Months
  • EPMO operating model, governance, and intake process fully stood up and adopted across the enterprise.
  • Enterprise portfolio view with real-time visibility into status, risks, dependencies, and value realization.
  • Measurable improvement in on-time / on-budget delivery of strategic and PE value creation initiatives.
  • High-performing PMO team in place with clear role definition and development plans.
  • Board- and sponsor-ready reporting cadence established and trusted by executive leadership.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Position is hybrid; with office locations in Sturgis, MI, Southington, CT, Silver Spring, MD, High Point, NC, and Salem, OR, with remote candidates considered based on qualifications and travel flexibility. Occasional travel to state operations, sponsor meetings, and consulting partner sessions expected.
