Job description

Grand View School is looking for individuals to support students with significant developmental delays and/or personal care needs. The successful candidate should feel comfortable with supporting students with academic, emotional, or behavioral concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social integration skills. Personal care needs may include: toileting, changing diapers, or feeding tube intake.

The individual may be required to work with other professionals, such as speech therapist, social worker, counselor, occupational and physical therapists. Other duties may include: Assisting students in achieving academic success Working with students who may be aggressive or disruptive in class Behavior support during academic, as well as, non-academic time. Consultation and collaboration with Special Education and General Education Teachers.

Assist general classroom and/or special education teachers with maintaining student records. Any other duties as assigned per the child's special education team. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required): High School Diploma or GED required and one of the following:o Completed at least 48 credit hours of college study; Passed the OGET test; Pass the Education Testing Service Parapro Assessment Test (passing score is 455) or the Workkeys Assessment (Passing score is 4 or better on all three parts).o Complete Paraprofessional Vocational Education Program or Paraprofessional Online Program Requirements
