Job description

GFT is seeking a Sr. Electrical Designer to join our Buildings and Places Business Group in Fife, WA ! This role is full time on site ( 5 days a week) at our Fife, WA location.

From energy-efficient power systems to advanced HVAC and plumbing designs, our team contributes to a resilient and sustainable built environment, pushing the boundaries of building system design and optimizing performance while addressing the unique needs of each facility. What you'll be challenged to do:This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Sr. Electrical Designer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project.  You will be doing a combination of the design work as well as managing projects.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Design and model building and site power systems.
  • Design and model building and site lighting systems.
  • Size, coordinate, and specify lighting fixtures and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Calculate and analyze electrical loads.
  • Perform lighting calculations to ensure adequate light distribution and energy-efficient design.
  • Provide design support in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
  • Attend meetings with the project team, including architects and other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure electrical design complies with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Prepare documentation for permit applications and agency review.
  • Perform site visits and write field reports.
  • Assist project managers to troubleshoot design and construction challenges.
What you will bring to our firm:
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 
  • Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCad, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Authorization to work in the United States (required)

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $81,000 - $100,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Featured Benefits:  Hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.
