Staff Embedded C++ Software Engineer (Robotics)ย 

The Staff Embedded C++ Software Engineer (Robotics) will support high-priority autonomous robot systems at a major warehouse automation client through development, 61508 certification, and field testing phases.ย ย ย 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:ย 

  • Work in a fast-paced cross-functional teamย 

  • Work directly under client direction to understand requirements and implement solutions according to the client's standards and processesย 

  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, code review, unit testing, integration, and verificationย 

  • Create and maintain detailed software documentationย 

  • Develop features, components, and infrastructure for autonomous robot systemsย 

  • Create/execute Unit Tests, Functional Integration Tests, and Safety Assessment activitiesย 

  • Develop diagnostics, test code, and utilities to support certificationย 

  • Support documentation and field testing activitiesย 

REQUIRED SKILLS:ย 

  • 2+ years professional experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience with embedded systems programmingย 
  • Proficiency withย modern C++ and/or Rustย 

  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS)ย 

  • Knowledge of microcontroller programming and hardware interfacesย 

  • Understanding of memory constraints and optimization techniquesย 

  • Familiarity with embedded debugging tools and techniquesย 

  • Understanding of real-time concepts, thread synchronization, memory management, and performance tuning on Linuxย 

  • Familiarity with modern tools and processes (Git, unit testing, CI/CD)ย 

  • Familiarity with Agile development conceptsย 

  • Demonstrated commitment to high qualityย 

  • Strong oral and written communication skillsย 

  • Highly motivated, self-disciplined, independent and results orientedย 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experienceย 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:ย 

  • Experience with roboticsย 

  • Background/coursework in Electrical Engineeringย 

  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and motor controlsย 

The base salary for this position is $90,000 to $140,000 annually, and the role is bonus eligible.ย
