Schedule & Hours: M-F, 20-30 hours per week

Workplace Flexibility Modality: Possibility of hybrid schedule after 30 days of work. Wednesdays are required in office day.

Work Environment: Office Environment, occasional travel for meetings and presentations within the NYC boroughs.

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.ย  To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. Itย facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.

About The Role

WorkWell NYCย seeksย an independent and highly motivated Special Projectsย Fellowย to provideย support for a variety of worksite wellness initiatives that aim to improve the health and well-being of City of New York employees.ย WorkWellย NYC Special Projectsย Fellowย will support strategic goalsย thatย WorkWellย NYC has setย by working on variousย projectย under the supervision of the Program Directorย and Assistant Commissioner.ย 

About the Program

WorkWell NYC (WWNYC) is an innovative workplace wellness team servicing over 350,000 City of New York employees. WorkWell NYC supports agencies to develop workplace-based programming and innovative, sustainable workplace wellness infrastructure. WorkWell NYC offers Citywide programming in person and digitally โ€” live and on-demand โ€” in five areas: prevention and chronic conditions, physical fitness, mental well-being, nutrition, and health equity.

Responsibilities

Projects andย responsibilitiesย will include:

Assistย with the development of innovative programming such as events for the 10thย anniversary of WorkWell NYC

  • Research vendors, event spaces, etc.
  • Draft program planning documents such asย objectives, evaluation measures/surveys, workplans, marketing materials, etc.
  • Assistย with implementation and staffing of events/initiatives

Assistย with the development and mappingย ofย data analytics and customer relationship management tools and implementation

Conduct research to support reaching new populationsย and providingย responsive programming

  • Reach out to stakeholders toย gather informationย and schedule meetingsย (i.e.ย informal inquiries, focus groups, etc.)
  • Draft communications to share information with stakeholders (i.e.ย emails, flyers,ย presentations,ย etc.)

Attend staff meetings and other WorkWellย NYCย meetings as requested by their supervisor

  • ย  ย  Other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and mission of theย department/ organization.
Requirements
  • Possess strong skills inย project andย time management, verbalย and written communicationย and organizational skills.ย 
  • Proficiencyย inย Microsoftย Office, Canva,ย Airtableย andย Salesforce Displayย a capacity for critical, independent, and creative thinking.ย 
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter who is flexible and able to balance multiple assignments with deadlinesย 
  • Previousย experience withย research,ย outreachย and program developmentย 
  • Previousย experience withย health and wellness promotionย programsย 
  • Able toย participateย in externalย workplace-based health forums (i.e., health fairs, educational programs)ย throughout NYCย to promote and/or evaluateย WorkWellย NYC programsย 
  • Previousย experience with the City of New Yorkย 
  • Graduateย student (preferred) inย public health, health promotion,ย health administration,ย sociology, organizational development, social work,ย community organizingย orย otherย related fieldย
