    Job description

    Why Spire?

Spire Consulting Group LLC is a leading construction consulting company driven by attention to detail and a passion for excellence. Our professionals have the construction and engineering expertise to deliver superior services on even the most challenging projects.

Spire Consulting Group celebrates 20 years of impact, built on reliability earned through deep expertise, trusted partnerships, and consistent delivery. Spire was recognized as Diverse Business of the Year by the National Construction Association, and our CEO, Anthony Gonzales, was named Top Site Leader at the Greater Austin Business Awards by the Austin Chamber of Commerce.

When you join Spire, you do more than advance your career — you become part of a collaborative, high-performing team that drives innovation, embraces change, and celebrates both individual and company success.

    Position Summary

Spire is seeking an Associate Consultant to support forensic and dispute resolution engagements for owners, contractors, and subcontractors across numerous sectors of the AEC industry. The Associate Consultant assists engagement teams with claims analysis, technical assessments, and the preparation of client deliverables, while building a strong foundation in project controls (time, cost, and risk). The Associate Consultant assists with the completion of client engagements and internal projects, promotes Spire's company values, and works to achieve the company's core purpose.

    Responsibilities

    Claims & Forensic Analysis

      • Assist with various technical analyses, including changed work, schedule delay, acceleration, productivity loss, standard of care, and quantification of damages.
      • Manage, review, and analyze project documents.
      • Compile project data in support of various analyses.
      • Evaluate project planning, cost management, and schedule development.
      • Perform legal and industry standards research.

    Expert Support & Deliverables

      • Support the engagement team by summarizing preliminary findings in preparation for client meetings and deliverables.
      • Prepare demonstrative aids to assist with conveying findings to key stakeholders.

    Quality & Operations

      • Learn and demonstrate mastery of Spire's QA/QC guidelines.
      • Ensure work products conform to the highest quality standards; contribute to developing and reinforcing best practices.
      • Participate in companywide business strategy review meetings.

    Communication & Professional Growth

      • Communicate effectively with clients and Spire staff in writing, in person, and over the phone.
      • Approach the role with a learning mindset — conducting research, gaining exposure to the industry, and continuously building knowledge in preparation for advancement to the next level.
      • Actively engage in learning new methodologies and technical skillsets, applying critical thinking and attention to detail in day-to-day responsibilities.
      • Demonstrate strong communication skills, curiosity, and a self-motivated approach to exploring and understanding assigned work; proactively take initiative to deepen expertise and contribute beyond immediate tasks.
      • Attend industry organization events to stay informed on emerging trends and actively seek opportunities to contribute as a thought leader.

    Education & Qualifications

      • Master's degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline preferred.
      • Bachelor's degree may be accepted with relevant project experience.
      • One (1) to three (3) years of engineering, construction, or related experience preferred.

    Skills

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
      • Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, RSMeans, Microsoft Visio, and Sage.
      • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software tools and systems.

    Perks & Benefits

      • Health coverage for employee and family through medical, dental, and vision plans
      • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) and holidays
      • Financial protection through life and disability insurance
      • 401(k) Plan with a generous match up to 6%
      • Tax advantages through FSA and HSA pre-tax contributions
      • Professional development budget
      • Employee assistance program
      • Community service opportunities
      • Company social events and outings (happy hours, concerts, bowling, and more)
      • Participation in industry conferences, speaking engagements, and professional networking events
