Ford Energy is a newly formed, wholly-owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company dedicated to accelerating U.S. energy independence. Leveraging Ford's century of manufacturing excellence and world-class battery energy storage systems (BESS) technology, Ford Energy designs, manufactures, and services grid-scale and commercial DC battery energy storage systems (BESS). You'll have...

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in law enforcement, military, security or equivalent
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience leading and developing teams.
  • Highly motivated, hands-on, self-starter with ability to think critically and operate in a dynamic ambiguous environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills; ability to navigate department technology platforms.
  • Ability to multi-task, strong problem-solving, conflict management skills.
  • Outstanding team building and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills (soft skills).
  • This is an armed role. Candidate must possess a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) and demonstrate firearm proficiency as a condition of hire.

  • Fifteen (15) years of law enforcement or military experience
  • Ten (10) years supervisory experience.
  • CPR/FA/AED certification.
  • Available to work 24x7, 365 days a year.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-218,100.      
 

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

Company: As Ford establishes a wholly owned subsidiary focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems, this role will initially be employed by Ford and is expected to transition to the subsidiary within one year.

What you'll do...
 

  • Manage security and operations for Ford Energy to include staffing requirements and scheduling, access control, CCTV monitoring, and emergency support. 
  • Manage a team of direct and indirect reports.
  • Manage special projects and security initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist with project management oversight for physical security and fire systems, as required.
  • Develop monthly security awareness communications to be provided to employees.
  • Conduct risk assessments of Ford Energy to determine if the operational model is adequate for site integrity.
  • May perform the role of Incident Commander for security, medical, or behavioral emergencies.
  • Respond to behavioral situations and emergencies as needed and escalate appropriately to the Regional Security Manager.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during an escalated event.
  • Manage escalated issues with plant Support Team Management (STM), as needed.
  • Enhance emergency response capabilities by utilizing incident response tools and through the deployment of emergency response equipment for the company or local municipalities.  
  • Collaborate with People Matters, Labor Relations, and Safety representatives as necessary to resolve workplace issues.
  • Identify and escalate physical security gaps through proactive security initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal skill teams to ensure unified alignment with all security and fire related matters.
  • Collaborate with the regional security team as well as appropriate internal Ford skill teams and external work partners to plan for and provide security coverage for special events and VIP visits to Ford Energy.
  • Track and compile team metrics; using data to drive decision making and security strategy.
  • Act as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies.
