Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative team at Strength To Health Therapy, Ltd. This full-time remote position provides an opportunity to deliver impactful therapy services to pre-screened, low-acuity clients with a focus on evidence-based practices. Our ideal candidate will be committed to fostering mental well-being and expanding access to vital mental health services.

About the Organization

Strength To Health Therapy, Ltd is a progressive mental health organization located in San Francisco, California. We prioritize access to quality mental health care for diverse populations, empowering individuals to achieve their own mental wellness goals. Our mission is to enhance the mental health landscape by offering compassionate and tailored therapeutic interventions, designed to meet the unique needs of each client.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from your own space while remaining connected through our robust telehealth system. You will be part of an enthusiastic team of professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional care in an outpatient office setting. Our collaborative culture promotes continuous learning, professional growth, and a strong sense of community among team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs, collaborating with each individual to set achievable therapeutic goals.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and other modalities appropriate for low-acuity cases.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy sessions, providing a safe and supportive environment for clients to express their thoughts and feelings while guiding them toward improved mental health.
  • Utilize crisis intervention skills to handle emergencies, providing immediate support while ensuring safety and appropriate referrals for further assistance.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and case consultations to share insights, discuss challenging cases, and stay aligned with organizational objectives for high-quality care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on low-acuity clients who benefit from an empathetic and structured approach to therapy. You will work with adults navigating issues such as anxiety, mild depression, stress management, and relational challenges, all within a supportive environment that respects individual dignity and diversity.

Qualifications
  • A valid and active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish trust and rapport with clients, ensuring an understanding and patient-focused approach to therapy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with excellent organizational abilities and effective time management practices.
Preferred Experience

We recommend candidates with at least two years of direct experience in mental health counseling, particularly those familiar with outpatient therapy settings and telehealth practices. Familiarity with managing low-acuity cases and employing evidence-based practices will be highly beneficial in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual compensation ranges from $115,000 to $120,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. This includes robust health insurance with dental and vision coverage, employer-matched retirement savings plans, and generous paid time off.

Career Growth Opportunities

As a member of Strength To Health Therapy, Ltd, you will have access to paid opportunities for continued education and professional development, including workshops, seminars, and certification programs. We are committed to supporting your career trajectory and encouraging the pursuit of specialized training to enhance your clinical skills.
