    Job description

    • Entry level accounting position - Great way to start your career!!
    • FULLY onsite position - candidates must be located within 30 miles of Manitowoc WI
    • $17 to $19 an hour estimated but pay will depend on skill and experience - increase offered once hired on!!

    The accounting assistant will keep financial records, prepare reports, and update financial information. The accounting assistant must be familiar with accounting procedures and have experience with accounting software programs (i.e. QuickBooks). Able to process business transactions, handle accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, receipts, and other financial matters. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned.
    • Handling bookkeeping and following accounting best practices
    • Reconciling credit card statements
    • Costing timesheets
    • Documenting fuel usage in spreadsheets
    • Fact-checking invoices for payment and processing
    • Creating Purchase Orders
    • Monitoring vendor statements
    • Processing travel packets, hotel reservations and per diems
    • Making collection phone calls and e-mails
    • Assisting team members when needed to accomplish team goals
    • Filing, mailing, and other duties as needed
    • Summarizing petty cash disbursements
    • Maintaining confidentiality of all financial data
    • Performing other tasks or projects assigned by controller

    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    • Self-motivated and self-directed
    • Accurate and precise attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize
    • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
    • High school degree required
    • One to three years of proven accounting experience preferred
    • Experience with QuickBooks would be ideal
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel
