Job description

Title: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Location: Telford, PA Area (100% On-site)

Role Overview:

Operating as a strategic peer to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CHRO will architect workforce strategy and guide the executive team through change management and workplace innovation. Simultaneously, this role requires a deeply involved leader who maintains immediate credibility on the plant floor, acting as a trusted advisor to supervisors, managing a direct report (HR Manager), and ensuring a culture built on trust and accountability.

Executive Responsibilities:

  • C-Suite & Strategic Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership on workforce strategy, organizational design, people risk, and the responsible integration of emerging technologies like AI tools.
  • Change Management: Lead the organization through transitions, technology adoption, and workplace evolution, ensuring the workforce remains competitive and growth-oriented.
  • Team Direction: Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and oversight to the internal HR Manager to support departmental objectives.
  • Comprehensive Employee Relations: Fully own employee relations across both hourly and salaried populations, managing investigations, performance management, and organizational alignment with empathy and fair judgment.
  • Regulatory & Employment Law Oversight: Ensure absolute compliance with federal and state employment laws, independently managing FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA, and workers’ compensation without relying on outside counsel.
  • Talent Strategy & Onboarding: Oversee executive, professional, and hourly manufacturing recruitment pipelines, ensuring onboarding heavily aligns with company safety, quality, and cultural standards.
  • Compensation, Benefits & Succession Planning: Architect and administer compensation structures, job classifications, and benefits programs alongside external brokers, while driving proactive succession planning for critical plant leadership roles.

Requirements:

  • Industrial Leadership Experience: 7+ years of progressive, upwardly mobile HR leadership experience, strictly required to be within a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy operations environment.
  • C-Suite Presence: A proven track record of successfully partnering with, influencing, and presenting data to C-suite executives and ownership.
  • Balanced Executive/Tactical Style: An advanced strategic mindset paired with a hands-on, execution-focused leadership style—visible on the plant floor and accessible to hourly and salaried employees alike.
  • Employment Law Mastery: Deep, practical working knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance (OSHA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA).
  • Innovation Mindset: Demonstrated experience navigating how emerging technologies and AI affect workforce planning and job design.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Advanced HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is highly preferred. Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.

Compensation & Benefits Package:

  • Base Salary: $150,000 / year
  • Executive Bonus: 20-30% performance bonus
