Job description

EPS Corporation is seeking a Lead S1000D Solutions Architect & Senior Analyst to provide technical leadership in the design and development of S1000D-based Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) in support of the IETM Development team and DoD technical publication delivery efforts. This role will serve as a key liaison between engineering, customers, and technical writing teams to support IETM viewer capabilities, publication integration activities, and compliance with DoD standards and NAVAIR requirements. Requirements Core Responsibilities S1000D System Architecture & Development Guidance * Engineering Liaison: Serve as the primary analyst guiding software developers on implementing S1000D functionality, including applicability filtering, content aggregation, and wiring diagram navigation.

* Schema & Logic Design : Translate schema architecture and design into functional capabilities within the IETM Viewer to ensure accurate data rendering, usability, and compliance with system requirements. * IETM Rendering Strategy & Specification Interpretation: Translate complex S1000D specifications (Issues 3.0-6) into actionable technical designs for development teams. * Leadership in Technical Data Standards: Apply XML expertise to support military and commercial technical data standards, including S1000D for IETMs, MIL-STD-3001 for technical manuals, and ATA iSpec 2200 for aviation documentation, ensuring compliant, interoperable, and well-structured technical publications.

Technical Manual Standards & Customer Engagement * Customer Interface: Act as the primary technical bridge between customers (e.g., NAVAIR) and internal teams to clarify IETM data requirements and specifications. * Technical Representation: Represent EPS in domestic and international forums (e.g., S1000D Electronic Publication Working Group). * Legacy Data Mitigation: Advise on strategies for converting legacy manuals to S1000D and MIL-STD-3001-1 standards.

Quality Assurance, Testing & Documentation * QA Leadership: Lead QA efforts for IETM viewer validation, ensuring XML-based manuals meet military and international standards. * Quality Oversight: Serve as final QA authority for user-facing documentation, ensuring accuracy, usability, and compliance. * Training & Onboarding: Develop and deliver training for technical writers on S1000D authoring and XML documentation practices.

Required Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant field. * Experience: 10+ years in information systems development, data requirements design, and analysis, with expertise in XML application design and development and experience is DoD Technical Manual Standards. * Specifications Expertise: Expert knowledge of S1000D (Issues 3.0-6) * Tools & Technologies: * Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) * Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., SVN) * Advanced experience with Arbortext, Oxygen, and CSDB management tools Preferred Skills * Experience supporting DoD customers * Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical standards into actionable guidance Experience participating in standards working groups or technical committees Desired Skills/Other Considerations Type of Security Clearance Required
