    What You'll Do
As an Electrical Engineer within ENTEK's Engineering Center of Excellence (COE), you will design, develop, implement, and support electrical systems for industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, and process operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and customers to deliver safe, reliable, and code-compliant solutions. In this role, you will lead electrical system design, component selection, engineering documentation, standards compliance, controls integration support, troubleshooting, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping drive successful project execution, innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
    In this role, you will:
    • Design and develop electrical systems, power distribution, schematics, panel layouts, and equipment for industrial automation and manufacturing applications.
    • Create and maintain electrical drawings, BOMs, engineering documentation, and technical requirements.
    • Select and specify electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, instrumentation, and control hardware.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements, including NEC, UL, NFPA, and CE.
    • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, project management, and service teams to deliver successful projects.
    • Support controls integration, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, equipment startup, commissioning, validation, and testing activities.
    • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to improve functionality, safety, reliability, and manufacturability.
    • Partner with suppliers, vendors, and customers to resolve technical challenges and support project execution.
    • Drive continuous improvement, engineering standardization, and innovation initiatives across the organization.
    • Provide technical leadership and support to cross-functional teams while promoting engineering best practices and operational excellence.

    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; 8+ years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, or similar environments preferred.
    • Experience developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panels, power distribution systems, and engineering documentation.
    • Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar platforms.
    • Knowledge of industrial controls, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, motor controls, and industrial networking.
    • Strong understanding of NEC, UL 508A, NFPA 70, CE, and other applicable electrical codes and standards.
    • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, commissioning, startup, and field support activities.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Experience working collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, project management, customers, and suppliers.
    • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence; experience with Lean Manufacturing and regulated industrial environments is a plus.
    • Experience in lithium battery manufacturing, plastics, process equipment, or related industries is preferred.

What We're Looking For We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in industrial automation, electrical system design, and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate has experience developing electrical schematics, power distribution systems, and control panels; working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and instrumentation; and supporting commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
