As a member of the technical staff, the candidate will play a critical role in the development of next generation processing, computing and sensor/actuator hardware within the electronics division. Members of the Embedded Electronics group support a variety of multi-disciplinary programs lasting an average of 12 to 18 months each. In addition to working on sponsored programs, group members are also encouraged to develop and participate in internally funded research and development programs. In addition, an Electronic Hardware Design Engineer develops, tests, and oversees the manufacturing of electrical printed circuit boards (PCBs), analog and digital circuits, electronic equipment, sensors, motors, radar and navigation systems. This engineer develops the architecture, designs circuit, performs simulations, performs physical layout, verifies and tests designs. Performs a variety of engineering activities throughout the life cycle to support planning, design, test, deployment, and sustainment. The Tailored Systems Business Area within Electronics Program Office directorate delivers first-of-a-kind field-ready microelectronics solutions in support of National Security missions. This role will support a large multi-disciplinary team as part of a long-standing, fast-paced contract with history of immense success. Apply to be part of this incredibly talented and dedicated Draper team!**Job Description:****Duties/Responsibilities*** Translates project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures working with cross-functional teams.* Innovatively solves issues, drives completion of the project to schedule, and collaboratively works with other technical contributors.* Builds, debugs, and tests prototypes and deliverable hardware.* Prepares documentation for manufacturing, and provides continuous support.* Researches and enables innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs.* Engages other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost effective end solutions for products.* Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.* Independently executes assignments with minimal oversight.* Able to apply technical knowledge to solve problems.* Contributes high quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance.* Proactively identifies needs and concerns associated with design decisions and communicates them to project leadership.**Skills/Abilities*** Proficiency in electronic design.* Ability to write detailed design specifications.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.* Excellent time management skills.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Ability to prioritize tasks.* Thorough understanding of engineering theories and procedures.**Education**Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
