Job description

DPP is seeking a Mass Properties Engineer III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Work location: Onsite in Vandalia, OH
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 Contract
Work authorization: US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
Position Summary:
  • As a Mass Properties Engineer III, you will research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and support cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from state-of-the-art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems.
  • You'll be responsible for developing complex aerodynamic components, structures, and systems.
  • Your technical responsibilities involve design and development, analysis, and test of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the calculation and analysis of mass properties for advanced aerospace systems.
  • Develop and validate mass properties models and simulations.
  • Inventory and weigh aircraft.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Higher level relevant degrees may substitute for experience.
  • General knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Exposure to Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
  • Experience in aircraft inventory.
  • Experience in mass properties calculation, analysis, modeling, and simulation.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military.
