Job description
Respiratory Therapist
The Respiratory Therapist will provide advanced respiratory care in a high-acuity setting, supporting both adult critical care and neonatal patients. The role involves working with advanced ventilator systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide respiratory care in critical care and NICU environments
- Operate and manage V60 BiPAP and Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators
- Monitor patient status and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Document all patient care activities using EPIC EMR system
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical teams
- Participate in external patient transports as required
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols
Requirements include:
- Experience in critical care and NICU
- Hands-on experience with V60 BiPAP and Puritan Bennett 980 Ventilators
- Familiarity with EPIC system
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Certifications/Licensure:
- Active New York State Respiratory Therapy License
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Current BLS & ACLS certifications
