Position: Medical Assistant
Facility: Cedar Sinai Medical Network
Location: 5411Etiwanda Ave, Tarzana, CA 91356
Pay range: $25/hr
Hours: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)

Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
12 hours non-billable orientation
Required Qualifications:
Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
1 year working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions
Expertise with blood/lab draws and venipuncture - will draw 1-5 tubes from each patient. The clinic sees 100+ patients a day
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years working as a MA in (specific speciality)
Experience with CS-Link/Epic
Phlebotomy certification (highly preferred)
Understanding of medical terminology
Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
Job Duties:
Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, and review current meds and record in medical record
Assist with tracking and monitoring department specific data
Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice
Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs
Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines
Administer immunisations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider
Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by provider
