Job description

Principal Software Test Engineer (Dish Network LLC, Denver, Colorado) Perform testing efforts on major projects by coordinating closely with cross-functional technical teams and providing regular testing status updates to senior technical leaders and business stakeholders. Develop, execute, and maintain test automation that exercises all aspects of application code for UI, API services, and database validations. Provide technical input, subject-matter expertise, and support to the test management team to support achievement of organizational testing objectives. Design and implement testing approaches and methodologies that improve overall quality, efficiency, and consistency of testing processes. Develop and recommend test automation frameworks that align with established engineering standards and system architecture requirements. Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that enhance the testing processes and align with the organization's technical roadmap. Support and maintain test environments to ensure availability, reliability, and consistency across testing cycles. Provide guidance and technical coaching to less experienced testing professionals to support skill development and knowledge transfer. Promote standardized testing practices through collaboration, technical reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and process documentation. Stay current on testing trends, tools, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the test organization. Contribute technical expertise to testing related initiatives and collaborate across teams to support consistent testing practices and outcomes. Analyze complex testing problems, develop improvement recommendations, and implement enhancements to testing processes and methodologies. Implement AI based solutions that increase testing efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. Salary: $136,115 to $181,500 per year. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as Software Engineer or any occupation, job title, position performing software quality assurance, testing, and application development. Must also have experience in the following: 7 years of professional experience creating test data, analyzing results, reviewing code logic, and validating database operations using tools including GSuite, MySQL, or MongoDB. 7 years of professional experience performing UI automation, creating and executing test cases, and generating reports for testing. 7 years of professional experience developing and maintaining applications using Java, JavaServer Pages (JSP), and JavaScript. 7 years of professional experience working with relational databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, using SQL and PL/SQL for data retrieval and validation. 5 years of professional experience collaborating with senior technical leaders and business stakeholders to communicate testing strategies, present quality metrics, and provide risk assessments to support executive-level decision-making. 5 years of professional experience providing technical mentorship and guidance to cross-functional testing teams, including conducting knowledge-sharing sessions, reviewing testing approaches, and supporting skill development without direct supervisory authority. 3 years of professional experience using Gitlab and Jenkins to perform version control and deploy code for automated tests, build and run automated load tests, and run manual API tests. 3 years of professional experience creating and executing functional tests for APIs using API Testing and Automation tools including Postman or ReadyAPI.
