Building a Safer Tomorrow
Do you have a passion for constructing safer communities and ensuring that the infrastructure built today will improve our future. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Project Manager in our Gas Distribution Division. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting Project Managers and Operations with our term and commercial projects, allowing us to build the infrastructure for tomorrow.
DDS specializes in the construction of complex commercial natural gas infrastructure projects throughout Central New York. Our Assistant Project Managers play an integral role in the successful completion of these projects. We seek a highly motivated individual who can work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. You must possess outstanding organizational, communication and computer skills. Above all, you must be a team player.
This position will be required to perform the following functions:
  • Help facilitate operational components of projects with PM and Area Manager
  • Understand the terms and scope of the contracts as it applied to the project
  • Help facilitate subcontractor activities under direct supervision
  • Assist with project procurement and subcontractor management
  • Assist PM with correspondence and reporting to clients and federal/state agencies
  • Assist in maintaining project schedule tracking for PM
  • Attend construction related meetings to support project related functions
  • Provide A/R function invoicing clients and preparing change order documentation/costing
  • Provide onsite administrative support activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience
Required
  • Minimum 2 years prior project coordination/project management experience in a construction setting
  • Must be able to multitask, possess strong attention to detail, manage tight deadlines and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite of product
  • Prior billing and time collecting experience
Preferred
  • Prior experience in Oil & Gas related construction
  • Previous experience with job costing software
