Job description

Occupational Health - Registered Nurse - Part Time
Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-12pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Applies nursing expertise to assess patient care needs, prioritize treatments, and ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment to the lead clinician for repair.
  • Recognizes emergencies and provides care within the legal scope of practice.
  • Administer Hep B vaccines, overall employee wellness, walk the plan to check for ergonomic assessments
  • Assist with flex/stretch for employees
  • This role will support employee FMLA/STD submittal of paperwork
  • Conducts occupational and health screening tests, including EKG, audiometry, spirometry, and vision, as outlined in the site contract.
  • Performs laboratory tests and quality control procedures as required.
  • Accurately documents nursing assessments, treatments, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care arrangements.
  • Assesses patients' health education needs and delivers relevant training and instruction.
  • Maintains medical records, potentially using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software in some health centers.
  • Ensures a clean and safe environment while following infection control procedures.
  • Ensures patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Participates in follow-up phone calls and visits
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Active Massachusetts RN license
  • Current BLS
  • CAOHC Certification preferred
  • NIOSH Certification preferred
  • Experience in Occupational Medicine preferred
  • Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Critically evaluate and analyze information in written materials.
  • Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Solve problems by analyzing information and using logic to address issues and problems.
