Summary of Job Duties:The Security Officer provides a variety of security and safety related functions while involved in safeguarding students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position provides security for equipment and real property in assigned areas. The Security Officer communicates effectively and respectfully with members of the campus community, supervisors, and peers. This position provides information and directions as needed. May be assigned to a specific zone or geographical work area.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or the formal education equivalent


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a security related field

  • Completion of 30 educational hours at an institution of higher education

  • Certification in CPR
